大兒子讀幼稚園時，有一晚要睡覺了，他忽然說：「媽媽我好害怕」，我因為很想睡覺，就隨意的問：「怕什麼呀？」大兒子他指著梳妝台上的大鏡子。我看了一下，又回答說：「這沒什麼好怕的，那只是反光，快睡吧!」，我就拿一件衣服，把鏡子給蓋上了，自己也就跟著睡著了。
One night, when my oldest son was still in kindergarten, he was about to go to bed. Suddenly, he cried out of the blue, “Mommy, I’m scared!” I was very sleepy so I did not pay too much attention and said, “Why are you scared?” He pointed to the big mirror on the makeup stand. I took a quick look and did not see anything, so I turned back to him and asked, “What’s so scary? There’s nothing there but a reflection. Go to sleep!” I took a piece of cloth to cover up the mirror and then proceeded to go to sleep.

第二天早上起來，孩子告訴我：「媽媽，昨天晚上我害怕睡不著的時候，我看到有三個可怕的東西，很像是惡魔。牠們從窗子進來，各穿著紅色、黑色、白色的衣服，拿著狼牙棒、長槍、長劍，我正在害怕不知怎麼辦的時候。
The next morning, my son told me, “Mommy, do you remember last night when I was so scared that I couldn’t sleep? It was because I saw three demons that looked like scary monsters. They came in through the window. One was dressed in red, one in black, and one in white. They were each holding different weapons: one was holding a spiky club, one was holding a spear, and the last one was holding a sword.

這時又從窗子進來好多天使，有的天使和惡魔打，也有天使圍繞著屋頂的燈一圈，後來這些個惡魔就都跑走了」。
Then when I was very afraid and didn’t know what to do, all of a sudden, many angels came in through the window. Some of the angels fought with the demons and other angels encircled the ceiling light. Then the demons fled.”

我聽後很羞愧，我想到兒子的小小心靈正在害怕，而我這個疲憊的媽媽，只是想到要自己好累，要快快的上床睡覺。唯有感謝神的看顧，並隨時保護著祂的子民，不分晝夜。
After I heard this, I felt ashamed as a mother. My son was so scared, but since I was so tired, I only thought of my exhaustion and desire to get into bed and sleep quickly. Yet God was there to watch over us, His children, day and night. Thank God for His protection!

後來，我又好奇的問他：「天使有翅膀嗎？有跟你說話嗎？」他很不好意思的說：「有，天使說你要乖」。
Later, I asked him out of curiosity, “Did the angels have wings? Did they talk to you?” He looked a little bashful and embarrassed and said, “Yes. They told me to behave and be a good boy.”

        小兒子十歲時參加暑期兒童靈恩會，要去教會時我勉勵他：「媽媽有聖靈，哥哥也有聖靈，你要利用這五天認真的求聖靈，你如果求到了我就送你腳踏車」而我的心裡想著；「十歲的孩子我能跟他說什麼大道理呢，不如鼓勵鼓勵吧。」
On another occasion, something happened to my other son when he was ten years old. He attended a summer children’s spiritual convocation at church, which was like a summer Bible camp. Before he left for church, I encouraged him saying, “Mommy has the Holy Spirit and your older brother also has the Holy Spirit. Make the best use of the next five days to pray hard for the Holy Spirit. If you receive the Holy Spirit, I promise to buy you a brand new bike.” My son was only ten years old and I did not know what else I could say to reason with him. I just thought that an encouragement and an incentive would help him to concentrate and pray hard to God.

四天過去了，到第五天，我心想；「已經剩今天，最後一天了。」到下午時，我又想；「現在應該是領完聖餐後，剩最後一次禱告求聖靈的機會了。」
The first four days of the convocation passed without any news. On the morning of the fifth day, I knew that there was only one day left. By noon, I knew that they were probably almost finished with the Holy Communion and all that was left was the final prayer for spiritual blessings. The convocation would draw to a close after this, so this would be the last chance!

忽然電話響起了，是兒子打來，孩子在另一頭用沙啞的聲說：「媽…我得到聖靈了」，我急急地問他：「感謝主，兒子你是怎麼跟神禱告的？」，他說：「我跟神說我寧願要聖靈也不要腳踏車，神立即就給我聖靈了」，我很被兒子的話感動，就說：「你很聰明，聖靈有了，腳踏車也有了」，等到兒子回到家，我立即帶他去買腳踏車。
While I was lost in my own thoughts, the phone suddenly rang. It was my son. He said with a hoarse voice, “Mom...I received the Holy Spirit!” I quickly said, “Thank God! How did you pray to God?” He said, “I told God I’d rather have the Holy Spirit, and not have the bike. Then God gave me the Holy Spirit right away.” I was touched by his words and said, “You are a very smart little boy. Now you have the Holy Spirit and you will also have a bike too!” After my son came home from the spiritual convocation, I immediately took him out to buy a brand new bicycle just like I had promised! Thank the Lord for His grace!
